Alright I was downloading exe's on my computer and simply put, I stopped scanning the files after a while. That's the first mistake. I allowed one in particular to run about three exe programs that got to communicate with the internet for about 5 hrs. Coming home from an outing, the computer informed me that a critical component of system 32 was terminated, and the computer was shutting down in 30 seconds. So I closed all of my applications and when I saw the desktop I saw something along the lines of this...

YOUR COMPUTER IS INFECTED WITH SPYWARE!!!
Under it there were suggestions of what to do, like turn off computer and all of that good stuff.

Naturally, from expereince from dealing with my dad's computer having the Skynet Adware Virus has told me that this was a part of the malware. This wouldint be too big a problem, if I could get to c-prompt or, even better, log in. Heres a breakdown of my computer's symtoms.

-I cannot commuicate with the disk drive, so there is no way to use a boot disk

-I can get to the windows load screen, looks like this *http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj53/CrazyMustang07/winxp_rc1_rev_02.gif*

-After this the startup process starts over and over, I cannot boot in safe mode

I think i can get a disk from windows company, as I had one but it seem I have misplaced it.

Thanks in advance for any help I receive at all.

***Ideas***
1. If I used another hard drive (that has windows on it) to scan for viruses on the infected one, would that work? After im finished I would just take it back out of the CPU.

2. I need to know if there is a way to get to MS-DOS or Command Prompt without windows starting up, remember that I cannot use a disk. I have a IBM CPU, at least that is what shows up on initial startup.

Yea that's what I said initially when I thought about it, but would any of the ideas listed work?

*EDIT*
Okay I got some new information, when I change the CD drive settings back to the way they were supposed to be, I go a message from the CPU that there was NO Operating System Found. I believe the challenge now is to put another OS on there and recover the sub data... More later.

GOT IT!!! I'm in with the windows disk I found (Took me all day to find it tongue3.gif) so its just got a little bit easier, I need to be able to repair the Windows XP OS so I can log in, or if someone is a master with MS-DOS I need to know how to virus scan with f-secure so I can make sure ther coast is clear to bring my computer back to full health. I'm just glad the situation is finally back under control. biggrin3.gif

You need to post a HJT log at one or other of the Malware Expert Help Forums to have your computer cleaned of Malware. There are no accredited Malware experts on this forum.

Here, or here. If you would rather a different choice google Malware removal forums and choose one for yourself.

kind regards,

I see that now, anyways I figured it out in my own time, it was just one of the Sky Net Mal-ware programs, not as big a deal as I thought, feel free to close this thread.
