So a strange thing is happening. Almost on every site with a login page I get an "Untrusted Connection" message. This is happening on both Firefox and IE. Here is a screenshot of it it:
![]() Current websites I get the error on: www.yahoo.com www.google.com www.ebay.com www.myspace.com www.facebook.com Any ideas as to what's going on? Thanks. This post has been edited by jerisern: Mar 5 2010, 02:29 AM |

There is one whole technical jargon explained here
http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/This+c...on+is+untrusted But anyway, I believe the reason is due to expired cookies and also something to do with "https" which means secure connection. Anyway, here's the main portion of the whole site. Bypassing the warning You should only bypass the warning if you're confident in both the identity of the website and the integrity of your connection - even if you trust the site, someone could be tampering with your connection. Legitimate public sites will not ask you to add connection rule exceptions - an invalid certificate can be an indication of a web page that will defraud you or steal your identity. On the warning page, click I Understand the Risks. Click Add Exception.... The Add Security Exception dialog will appear. Read the text describing the problems with this site. Click Confirm Security Exception if you want to trust the site. -------------------- My website|I recommend Windows 7 |Solved cases Archive

What I don't get is why I would be getting that message on well known and popular sites in the first place? You'd think that they'd all have up to date Security Certificates, and I assume that they do, and that it's just my computer that's causing the problems. It's only happening on my laptop too, I get nothing like that on my desktop or any other computer on the same network.
It's just getting super annoying to add EVERY SITE as an exception because the browsers thinks it's a risk. Even if I do add them as an exception the browswer automatically starts to remove sections of the site it thinks is a risk so the webpages all look like they've been hacked up. Especially annoying on FF when it just keeps telling me to veiw the websites certificate over and over and over again to make sure it's safe. Check your security settings, warnings messages in Firefox. Make sure that you only have the ones checked that you want.

It's not just happening on FF, but IE as well. I already went the over the security setting on both browsers over and over again, and both are at if not close to default. This just started happening out of the blue with no settings changed so I don't know what it could be.
