Compaq presario f700
Windows 7 Device manager only shows: NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller under network adapters (don't know what that means) My wireless light is always red. Once in a big while the light will be blue when i turn on the computer. I read something about editing the registry?!?! but the guide was for a computer not using windows 7. (something about values) Can anyone help? maybe i need a new wireless card? maybe the motherboard is toast? Any help is appreciated thanks. |

I have the same issue and wonder if its a bug. mine started with Win 7 RC1 about 3 months ago, and since installing Win 7 March 1st 2010... it occasionally happens. what I do is go into the network and sharing by clicking the icon in the lower right task bar next to the clock.. and you will see in the menu to the left "adapter settings" or something similar open that up and in that window right click and disable your adapter...then renable it. you should have a connection then.
its not my network card as it does this on my laptop as well for both wired and wireless connections. |

I'm not entirely sure but i might have had this problem since before i put windows 7 on the comp. I went into network & sharing center but couldn't find a "network adapter" .. just the networks available.. i can post screen caps if needed. but i'm assuming i can get to the same network adapter through device manager right? well i disabled and enabled the only network adapter i see in that menu and no change.. should i have two devices in that menu since it's a laptop? |
