Hi. Well, let me begin by explaining where it all began. I went to upload some pictures on my computer and I connected my camera to my USB cord and turned it on when suddenly my computer screen froze. I tried to see if my iPod worked in my other USB port, it froze my screen as well. I googled a solution concerning pulling my computer plug out for a half hour and thankfully that worked. Then, fml, my Internet wasn't (isn't) connecting. I have a linksys wireless adapter (with a speedbooster) and am pretty much at a loss for what to do.
I am currently running vista on my computer (not laptop) and tried the option "diagnose and repair" only to end up with two messages (which do not occur at the same time but two I have seen so far) one is "network cable is unplugged" which is not right I think considering the other computers in my house work fine, I'm writing this on my iTouch which obviously is connected, and I've even tried resetting my modem/router but to no avail. Now, the other message says "Install wireless networking hardware, and verify that the correct drivers are loaded". I've gotten the network cable blah blah message maybe twice but this one at least eight. Do I try and reinstall the driver with my disk? (despite the fact it says I can't make any connections and I need to install this again, it recognizes in my adapter section what I do have installed in device manager. My driver is up to date, so that's not the problem. Edit: this might be significant that when I run cmd and type ipconfig/all it says repeatedly "media disconnected" Anyway, I would truly appreciate any input Thanks, Jen This post has been edited by Jennifernoel~: Mar 1 2010, 09:35 PM |

try uninstalling the adapter in device manager and reboot the pc and let windows install it for you. another thing to try is disable the adapter then re-enable it again.
