»  Port Help, How to make use of only one port

Hey everyone,

Im at uni at the moment and I only have access to one port. Im looking for a way to make a link between a program running on another port and the usable port. Can anyone help?

We need clarification.

"Port" is a very generic term; there are COM ports, LAN ports, USB ports, KB port, Mouse port, Parallel (aka printer) port, Network (IP/UDP) ports, etc.

More detail please.

If you're referring to a TCP/UDP port (like port 80 is typical for web browsing) some programs like peer to peer sharing programs have an option in the preferences to select the port they broad cast and receive on. I haven't found a method to force a program to use certain ports if that capability is not written into the program. I found one page that suggests it can be done by editing a "services" file. Yes I mean TCP/UDP. We only have access to port 3128 through a proxy. The port I need to use is 43594 but without any admin access on the network I cant change the port I get.

What OS are you using? If you don't have admin access to the network, do you have admin access to the computer you're using?

Windows 7 ultimate and yes I have admin rights on my computer.
