Hey, I've just been given a Belkin WLAN Network card (product type in title)... I've installed the software and hardware exactly as it says in the manual and after you have done that XP is meant to automatically find the drivers for it but it doesn't apart from the odd time when it has installed drivers for a Dell network card (which don't work).
When I've tried to install the drivers manually (either from the disk or from the folder with the ones I've downloaded from the Belkin website) it says no suitable drivers have been found. Would really like help with this ASAP if anyone knows of a solution! Thanks very much, Besty. |

What is your internet service provider?
If you have one at home, is your modem wireless "type" of modem. Even if you have installed it correctly, the device itself has a program too. You will need to make sure that it is running. Look at the task bar near the time . lower right hand corner. and wireless program icon running? If not, you will need to start the program from the start menu/ Next, if you have password encryption on your broadband. You must set the password on your Belkin WLAN connecting program to authenticate with your network. -------------------- My website|I recommend Windows 7 |Solved cases Archive

As I said, the program for the card, etc is installed and runs but it just says no device found (meaning it can't find the wireless card) down to the fact XP is forcing the Dell drivers to be installed instead of the correct Belkin ones I have on the computer. As for my set-up, it's a normal modem connected to a wireless router (and I know this is set up correctly as I'm connected wirelessly at the moment on the laptop!). Would there be a way for me to make it automatically install the correct Belkin drivers or is this not possible? |

Is it a pci or a usb card?
You may wish to try putting the card in another pci slot or usb slot. Also , don't go through a hub if it is a USB Check the hardware device manager if the card is detected at all or having exclamation marks -------------------- My website|I recommend Windows 7 |Solved cases Archive

It's a PCI card, I'll try moving it like but it's already being recognised so I doubt it's that that is the problem, it's just the fact it's being recognised as the wrong piece of hardware by Windows.

Yeah, I've gave up, got another one and it works perfectly fine, didn't even have to install anything.
