Hey everyone. I’m steve, some of you may know me as [s] from OpenWar. I have been looking for good forums to join, and have come up disappointed so many times, hopefully this one will suit me.
A bit about me, I once ran a webhosting/tech website called OpenWar.net. I have gotten into PHP/MySQL development and have programmed a Blog system known as SimpleBlog. I run a blog hosting service, similar to Xanga, called SimpleBlog hosting using the blog software i coded (http://www.open-blog.org). Recently I have been working on a MySpace replica with a development team of mine. We are calling it MyOpenSpace, designed to be an open-source ad free version of MySpace. The real reason were working on it is for a challenge, but putting it to practical use later may happen. I am a Student in minnesota going to college for Computer Hardware/Software Engineering, and having a double-major in Electrical Engineering. I hope to frequent these forums. Kinda funny how I came across these forums. I google searched myself plus my old website (openwar + steve) http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=openwar++steve and the 5th one down was about me.

that MyOpenSpace is an awesome idea.. Make the freaking profile layouts with DIVS so everyone can have their own special profile crap without hacking away at it. That's my one wish for myspace.. so fullfill that with yours!

Minnesota is cold, all the snow melted already, but its still cold.
As far as the whole myopenspace thing goes, we plan to just build a basic layout and allow custom CSS (via a user page edit system). We have a demo online but it isnt anything to be proud of, its really basic. Ill get a working demo online in the next few days to show you the basics of what we have done. -------------------- |
