In this guide, i will tell you... -Where you can download Keypass -How to setup Keypass -How to use Keypass First off, i will explain how Keypass works. Basically what Keypass does is store passwords and user names to websites and E-mail accounts and anything else the uses passwords and user names. You have to manually add all of this information into Keypass. (There is a little bit of work involved =D) Step 1: Download Keypass version 1.16 (Classic Version) from the link below. Link: http://keepass.info/download.html I'm going to assume you know how to download a file and extract it to your desktop. Step 2: Click the icon that should appear on your desktop and go through the install process. Check the boxes that you want and un-check that boxes that you don't. Step 3: Once the install is done there should be another icon on your desktop. This one will run Keypass. Step 4: After running Keypass a little window should pop up. Step 5: Click on File -->New Step 6: Once you click New you should be prompted with a "Master Password" setup. Step 7: Enter a password that YOU will remember. ( A password to protect passwords, ironic huh? You will be asked to enter this password every time you run Keypass. It is designed this way so that no one else has access to all your passwords but you. Keypass will ask you to enter the password twice. Step 8: Once past step 7 you should should see a "General" folder on the left hand side of Keypass. The tabs there are just there incase you would like to keep your passwords organized. Step 9: This is were Keypass really comes in handy. At the top of Keypass click Edit --> Add New Entry. Step 10: Another screen will pop up. The point of Keypass is to be used while registering to a website that requires a user name and password. Lets use Computerhelpforum for an example. Step 11: While registering to computerhelpforum your are asked to type in a user name and password. Type in a user name and then type that same user name into the "Add Entry" screen on Keypass. Step 12: Now you need to add a password to register to computerhelpforum. Click the three black circles on keypass to reveal the password Keypass has generated. Step 13: Copy and paste the generated password into the "Password" and "retype password" boxes while registering to a site. Step 14: Now you can register to that site. You may receive an e-mail if the site asked you for your e-mail address when registering. Step 15: Once you have confirmed registration ( if you received a e-mail), direct yourself to you "Login" link on the website you are registering to. Step 16: Copy the URL in the address bar on your web browser and paste it in Keypass in the box that says URL beside it. Make a title for the entry so you know what website its for. Once all boxes are filled out click "OK" Step 17: 99.9% done! Once you have added your new entry, direct yourself to it in Keypass and then right click it and click the "Open URL(S)" tab. This will direct you to the login screen of that website. Step 18: Once you are at the login screen to that website, left click your cursor in the "User name" box. Un-minimize Keypass, right click the entry again and click "Preform Auto-type" This will automatically sign you into that website. Thats pretty much it folks, if you are unsure about some stuff in my guide please PM me or refer to the youtube videos i will post below. One more thing!! You can also use keypass to store passwords and user names to sites your already resisted to. You still have to add the info manually. But i just find it nice to have complex passwords that i don't have to remember =D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q65k8rS03os ( Only worry about the Keypass part of this video) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bE4bEZ6VjEw ( No sound) Thanks for reading! Don't know which one is better? -------------------- They say the conversation about the weather is the last refugee of the unimaginative?

Doesent this defeat the point of having multiple passwords in the 1st place,if they know 1 they know them all.
Kind of like the Identitiees card in Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy 5th thingy phase Finger print scan, retina scan and DNA analysis all put into a single easily stealable card I fill in all my passwords with a special 4 key key combination that would take a very long time to guess! -------------------- May i remind you that i take no responsibility for any injuries/deaths that may occour from the above post.
I dont use hard drives,i just have 35 chinease teenagers in my basement and i force them to memorize numbers. Email me @ Ma email Add me on steam @ Alex4921 Add me on Xbox Live @ "Alex B Cant Die" Add me on MSN if you really want and don't have steam cause i never go on MSN and never check the emails on there @ Here Did a solution i posted worked? Did i managed to brick your computer? Well then post back and tell me so i know for next time ! |
