So first things first, hey everyone and hope to get some great advice from you all.
And my computer specs are found here: My computer specs Well those are my specs and what I'm trying to do is upgrade the hard drive so that my computer doesn't start to slow down, Significantly, once I start using many programs at once. I'm not a gamer but would like to have a VERY proficient computer for intense programs simultaneously; such as Photoshop CS3, On average of 3-4 Windows of Internet, and P2P Dl'ing, and on the meanwhile listening to music in the background. So far, from all the tips I've gotten from other places and reviews I've read about, this, This "thing" is a great Core for a low price which do a lot of benefits in performance for my, and others', computers. NOTE: If you have others you can recommend in that area of price would be great. Edit: I also upgraded From Windows XP to Windows Vista 32-Bit(Basic). Another question(s): - Are all kinds of Hard drives compatible with any type of computer? - What kinds of Hardware/Software are compatible with my specific computer? Well this is a bit too ask for but not being too knowledgeable in this kind of field hurts. Anyways thanks for your time and consideration for looking into this. I'm not a gamer but would like to have a VERY proficient computer for intense programs simultaneously; Upgrading your hard drive won't fix this problem. What you'll need to do is upgrade your RAM. Your computer slows down while using a lot of programs because it's constantly swapping in and out to the hard drive. More RAM will make it so you won't have to swap to the hard drive much -- if at all. QUOTE So far, from all the tips I've gotten from other places and reviews I've read about, this, This "thing" is a great Core for a low price which do a lot of benefits in performance for my, and others', computers. NOTE: If you have others you can recommend in that area of price would be great. If you want to upgrade your processor to that "thing" you'll need to upgrade your mainboard and RAM as well. That processor won't fit into your current mainboard. Right now, the fastest processor that you could (possibly) upgrade to -- that you can still buy new, not eBay'd -- is this one. I don't believe that intel ever made any dual-core socket 478 processors, but I'm not really an intel guy so I can't say this for certain. That's just conjecture. The other problem that you may run into with a processor upgrade, though, is that some HPs won't run with any processor other then the one that comes with the computer. Can't say whether or not yours is one of those computers. QUOTE - Are all kinds of Hard drives compatible with any type of computer? Nope. All depends on the interface. Your computer, for example, can only use IDE hard drives. QUOTE What kinds of Hardware/Software are compatible with my specific computer? Pretty long list. Why don't you tell us what you want to get and we can make recommendations? -------------------- b4yp's latest Twitter update:
