Hello,
I was wondering, when you go into ctrl-alt-delete (I can't remember what it's called) and you go to processes (Win XP) you see Mem usage, and Cpu usage. Sometimes I see programs (AVG for one) using 99 CPU, is that 99%. If so, is this showing that I might need a processor upgrade to speed things up? My memory is always below 1gb total (I have 2) so I don't think upgrading my MEM would increase performance. Correct me if I'm wrong. Praise me if I'm right Thanks, Mitch |

I do believe the number in processes under cpu is the percentage of cpu that particular program is currently using. Upgrading your processor might help but the reason AVG was using 99% cpu is probably because it was currently doing a system scan or in the middle of upgrading, etc, but upgrading your cpu can never hurt as long as your motherboard supports the new cpu.
